Great to meet you!

I am a clinical social worker specializing in dialectical behavior therapy, parenting, autism-specific parenting, and communication in relationships. I have life experience as a mother of three, parenting one child with autism and multiple special needs and two children who identify as LGBT. I have an MBA and made a major career switch into this field!

My approach to therapy

I consider my approach somewhat structured while still meeting clients where they are. I take a middle ground while collaborating with the client on which approach would work best for them.

What you can expect from me

I'm going to discuss my whole intake and treatment planning process, which takes several sessions. The first session starts with me letting the client tell their story for about half the session. Then I ask some required intake questions involving the client's history, goals for therapy, strengths, and preferences. During the second session, I do some standard assessments depending on the presenting problem, which will help with treatment planning. I then do a collaborative treatment plan with clients. They are able to see this plan and sign off on it, so they know exactly what we are working on. After we agree on an approach and have a treatment plan, the work begins!
