Great to meet you!

Welcome! As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Psychotherapist, and Board-Certified Music Therapist, my goal is to create a safe, deeply affirming, and non-judgmental environment where you can show up exactly as you are. I specialize in Grief & Loss (including Pet Loss), Aging and Life Transitions, ADHD/executive functioning challenges, Depression, Anxiety, Self-Esteem, Substance Use/Recovery, & Caregiver Stress issues. I work with adults (aged 18-100) in individual and group sessions.

My approach to therapy

Have you ever listened to the lyrics of a song and thought, “That’s exactly how I feel! The songwriter could have been written my story!”? This is Connection - Feeling seen, heard, and understood. This describes my therapeutic style - warm, empowering, creative and eclectic - meaning “no cookie-cutter" approach. I believe therapy should fit the person, not the other way around. I provide various evidenced-based social work, therapeutic, and creative techniques (ie., music therapy), based on what will facilitate the best awareness, healthy coping skills, growth, and overall well-being in your journey.

What you can expect from me

Trust, confidentiality, and clear communication are absolutely essential in therapy. In our first session, we will focus on identifying current challenges, how these challenges are impacting your thoughts, feelings, behaviors, and life (what brought you to therapy). We will explore your strengths, resilience, present coping skills, as well as discuss your personal goals. You are the expert of your life. As a Therapist, I will provide safe and supportive space to identify effective current coping strategies, and additionally share evidenced-based therapeutic techniques and coping skills. So, ask questions, explore, and expect to gain empowerment and self-understanding and discovery in our sessions. To quote Brene Brown, "Healing begins the moment you realize your struggle isn't a solitary sentence, but a deeply human experience."
