Great to meet you!

I am licensed in Alabama with 7 years of professional work experience. I graduated from Troy University in 2018 with my Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, and obtained my Master’s Degree in Social Work from Troy University the following year in 2019.

Throughout my career as a social worker I have been able to gain experience from working in the hospital setting (to include the areas of medical discharge planning, behavioral health services, grief counseling, mother and infant needs, community resources, etc), substance abuse counseling (serving as a counselor for clients at a long-term residential treatment center), children and family services (working in the therapeutic foster care setting assisting with the training and licensing of prospective foster parents in Trauma-Informed Care), as a Geriatric Psychotherapist (offering individualized therapy to residents at nursing homes and assisted living facilities), and as a Hospice Medical Social Worker (assisting with referrals for community resources and providing emotional support and reassurance to patients and families throughout decline process).

A bit about my approach to therapy

As your therapist, my goal is to provide you with a holistic space that allows you to process current life struggles/stressors, learn from past mistakes/disruptive patterns of behavior, and empower you to continue to make forward movement on your personal journey.

What you can expect from our first session

I view and treat each client as the unique individual that they are, and recognize that each of us are shaped and forged from our own complex and deeply personal life experiences. This belief guides my practice in recognizing the individual before their symptoms or diagnosis, while empowering each client to view themselves as whole and worthy regardless of their current circumstances.

I equally believe in accountability for everyone engaged in our therapeutic alliance. When we own it, we can recognize it. When we recognize it, we can learn from it. When we learn from it, we can grow from it. Life gets messy, but we humans are resilient. Sometimes we just need a little extra support and guidance to remind us of how capable we are.
