Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m Laura Green, an LCSW and the owner of Green Therapy Services, PLLC. I got my Master’s in Social Work from the University of Illinois in Champaign, and I’ve been in the field for over a decade working with people in all different stages of life.

My background is pretty diverse. I’ve worked with toddlers with special needs, teens with behavioral challenges, and families involved in the child welfare system. I’ve also spent time volunteering with hospice and I completed my graduate practicum in outpatient substance abuse treatment. These experiences helped shape my down-to-earth, flexible, and compassionate approach to therapy.

In recent years, I’ve worked in private practice, and now I’m excited to be running my own. I specialize in supporting clients with anxiety, depression, trauma, OCD, ADHD, neurodivergence, perinatal/postpartum mental health; as well as relationship and couples issues, boundary-setting, parenting, life transitions, and stress management, all within an LGBTQ-affirming and inclusive space.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is warm, supportive, and collaborative. I believe that healing happens in a space where you feel safe to be fully yourself, without judgment or pressure. I meet my clients where they are and tailor each session to what feels most helpful in the moment, whether that’s processing something heavy, learning new tools, or just having space to breathe and be heard.

I often integrate EMDR into my work, especially when clients are dealing with trauma, anxiety, or past experiences that still feel “stuck.” I use an eclectic, personalized approach to therapy, meaning I draw from a wide range of evidence-based techniques depending on what fits best for each person.

What you can expect from me

Therapy with me isn’t one-size-fits-all. Some sessions are deep and emotional, others are light and practical, we follow your lead. My goal is to help you feel more grounded, connected, and in control of your life.
