Great to meet you!

My name is Laura Harvester and I am a LCSW and Qualified Supervisor. I specialize in working with people in the LGBTQ+ community especially those who deal with difficult to manage heightened emotions and difficulty with family relationships.

My approach to therapy

Clients who have enjoyed working with me in the past have reported appreciating my knowledge, honesty and willingness to be wrong. These are all things I try to instill in session. I want us to balance finding empathy for yourself and identifying what changes are needed to make your life a happier one.

What you can expect from me

I aim to provide a safe place to learn to identify your emotions, fears and needs so that you can work towards building better boundaries and increasing safety and security within yourself and your environment. In the first few sessions we will work to identify your primary needs in therapy and identify what strategies resonate with you most. It is important to me that each one of my clients feels that their treatment is built for them and I want to make sure you feel like you have agency in what therapy will look like for you.
