Great to meet you!

I have a passion for helping people heal and thrive as they encounter challenges, address traumas, and experience life changes. From a young age I found joy in helping and supporting others. Ultimately, this led to my pursuit of a career in the field of counseling. Over the years I have worked with individuals of all ages on a broad spectrum of issues. I stepped away from professional practice for a time while I raised my kids, volunteered, taught piano, and offered life coaching. After experiencing the benefit of EMDR I became convinced of its therapeutic value and became trained so that I could offer the same opportunity for healing to my clients. I have been married for three decades and have two amazing young adult children. I enjoy traveling off the beaten path and watching the antics of my curious cats!

My approach to therapy

I have a personal, client-centered approach to therapy. Each person faces unique challenges and traumas in life. When these accumulate over time they can result in symptoms and emotional distress that affect a person's ability to function. As an EMDR-trained therapist, I will work with you to unblock your brain so that you can recover from the past, reprocess present triggers, and rehearse to cope with future challenges. I also use supportive cognitive (talk) therapy to help clients identify and replace negative thoughts, gain insight, and grow towards positive change. I specialize in women's issues, young adult transitions, trauma recovery, and Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome.

What you can expect from me

Clients can expect to leave sessions with the knowledge that they have been seen, heard, and valued. Together, we will develop an actionable plan to help you recover from past pain, get to the roots of your anxiety and depression, manage stress, successfully navigate life transitions, and move toward healing and wholeness.
