Great to meet you!
With 30 years as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker I have experience as supportive counselor, patient educator, guided imagery practitioner, and Lifestyle Medicine Health Coach.
I earned a Master of Science at Columbia University School of Social Work in 1995 and Doctorate (EdD) in health education from Teachers College Columbia University in 2017. I also hold post-graduate certifications in health Coaching from The Cooper Institute, Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT) from the Albert Ellis Institute and psychoanalytic practice from National Institute for the Psychotherapies (NIP).
I've contributed to numerous seminars, publications, and apps in the areas of health behaviors such as goal setting, stress management, body image, and issues relating to chronic illness and disability. My passion is to help you realize your goals and enhance your well-being. I specialize in building a healthier relationship with food and body image, adjustment to aging and chronic illness, goal setting, stress management, mastering life changes, and resilience. Change is always possible when you discover your why - what about change has meaning to you. I will partner with you to challenge the thoughts that hold you back, and foster new behavior that aligns with your passion and vision.
On a personal note, I'm an avid gardener, skilled cook and baker, animal lover, and nature enthusiast. I'm driven by a belief in giving back and making the world a better place. Together, let's find your WHY!
