Great to meet you!

With a career spanning nearly two decades in child welfare and clinical social work, Laura provides a specialized safe place for youth (ages 3–26) navigating life’s most difficult experiences. Her practice focuses on building inner coping and resilience by enhancing bodily awareness and active curiosity, ensuring that healing isn’t just a cognitive process, but a physical one.

Specialized Clinical Focus:

Childhood Trauma: Expert in childhood sexual abuse, abuse and neglect, grief, bullying, complex medical diagnosis/complications, and all the BAD, SAD, and SCARY things in-between.

Specialized Sexual Behavior Work: Extensive experience facilitating therapy for children and adolescents with inappropriate and illegal sexual behaviors.

Systemic Support: Navigating foster care, adoption, divorce, family and/or sibling dynamics, behavioral struggles, and school avoidance.

My approach to therapy

Her clinical approach is deeply rooted in the belief that trauma lives in the body. By enhancing bodily awareness and fostering a stronger mind-body connection, Laura helps clients build the internal resilience and coping mechanisms necessary for long-term regulation. Whether utilizing CBT, TF-CBT, or EMDR, or engaging younger clients through Play Therapy and Sandtray, the goal remains the same: transforming pain into a foundation of safety.

Laura brings a wealth of specialized experience to their practice, particularly in complex childhood trauma—including CSA, abuse, neglect, and medical trauma. Their expertise also extends to the nuances of foster care, adoption, and the systemic challenges of school avoidance and behavioral struggles.

What you can expect from me

The first session has multiple goals, first of which is beginning to build a relationship built on trust and safety. The second goal of that first session is to begin the exploration process to truly understand what is bringing you to therapy and what goals you have for the journey. The third goal of my initial sessions is that you walk away feeling seen, heard, and understood and feel confident that our work together will be valuable.
