Great to meet you!

Hello! I've been a counselor in Western North Carolina for the past 5 years. I specialize in working through trauma and helping clients build internal resilience, self compassion, and clarity around what a meaningful life can mean for them. I have experience helping folks from all walks of life find a path through difficult times. I typically utilize a person centered and strengths based psychotherapy model along with concrete therapeutic skill learning and EMDR to tackle specific problems.

A bit about my approach to therapy

Making positive changes in our lives is often difficult in the sense that it may take a lot of mental work, it may asks us to try new things, and it might challenge us to ask difficult questions and make tough choices. These difficulties are lessened when we work together. My goal is to provide collaborative support, and thoughtful guidance during these times, and also be present to celebrate and witness individual progress towards goals.

What you can expect from our first session

I intend working with me to be a collaborative experience for clients. I strongly believe that folks generally know what they need and have capacity for healing when they are given the right support and tools.
