Great to meet you!

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor dedicated to creating a welcoming, supportive space where clients feel heard, respected, and understood. I earned my master's degree in counseling from Lindsey Wilson College and have experience working with youth, adolescents, and adults.

I specialize in supporting individuals navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, relationship concerns, life transitions, stress, or other areas. My approach draws from CBT, person-centered therapy, solution-focused therapy, trauma-informed care, or other modalities and is tailored to each client's needs, strengths, culture, and goals.

I believe counseling is a collaborative process. Rather than offering judgment or one-size-fits-all answers, I work alongside clients to identify patterns, develop practical coping skills, strengthen self-understanding, and create meaningful change. My style is warm, compassionate, direct, practical, or gently challenging, and I aim to help clients feel both supported and empowered.

Taking the first step toward counseling can feel difficult. My goal is to provide a safe and authentic environment where you can explore what you are experiencing at your own pace and work toward a life that feels more balanced, fulfilling, and aligned with who you are.

My approach to therapy

My approach is collaborative, compassionate, and practical. I see therapy as a space where you can feel genuinely heard while also gaining tools and insight that help you make meaningful changes outside of sessions.

I typically start by understanding what brought you to therapy, what you want to be different, and what has or hasn’t worked for you in the past. From there, I tailor our work rather than relying on a one-size-fits-all approach.

Depending on your needs, sessions may include exploring patterns and emotions, developing coping skills, challenging unhelpful thoughts, improving relationships and communication, or working through difficult past experiences.

I place a strong emphasis on safety, trust, and the therapeutic relationship. I want you to be able to bring your authentic self into the room without judgment. I also believe therapy should be purposeful: we regularly check in about your goals and whether our work is actually helping.

My particular areas of focus can include anxiety, depression, stress, self-esteem, relationship concerns, life transitions, trauma, and coping with difficult emotions, depending on the individual and their goals. I use an integrative approach, drawing from evidence-based therapeutic strategies while adapting them to the person in front of me.

Ultimately, I see myself less as someone who tells you what to do and more as a partner who helps you understand yourself, identify what you need, and develop the confidence and skills to move forward.

What you can expect from me

During the first session, clients can expect a welcoming, nonjudgmental environment where we take time to get to know one another and begin building a foundation of trust. We’ll talk about what brings you to therapy, what you’re currently experiencing, and what you hope will be different as a result of our work together.

We’ll also discuss relevant history and patterns that may help me better understand your situation, while making sure the conversation feels comfortable and manageable. I’ll explain how I approach therapy, answer any questions you have, and work with you to identify initial goals.

By the end of the first session, I typically hope clients leave with a clearer understanding of what they want to work on, a sense of direction for therapy, and at least one practical takeaway or next step. Most importantly, I want you to feel heard, respected, and comfortable enough to decide whether I’m the right therapist for you.
