Great to meet you!

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I believe that empathy and compassion are essential in the therapeutic relationship and have found that progress is best achieved when integrating both the heart and the mind. I have experience working with couples, families and individuals of all ages in areas of self-esteem, codependent relationships, boundaries, communication, anxiety, depression, trauma, anger, grief, and loss.

My approach to therapy

Having a safe place to process thoughts and feelings is important. Whether you have experienced trauma, have been feeling depressed or anxious, are struggling with a relationship, making life transitions, or are seeking to gain self-awareness, I would be honored to work with you to create that space of healing and growth. I utilize approaches such as DBT and CBT, Strength Based, experiential, and trauma-informed, attachment friendly DBT for couples.

What you can expect from me

While I hope that sessions will lead to new insights and growth, I also believe that much of one's progress is related to the work done between sessions. Therefore, I generally give homework. Most of the time homework is something small to focus on or incorporate in daily life. For example, homework might be developing one boundary, utilizing mindfulness each day, or focusing on self care. Finally, I believe part of my job is to challenge clients but in a gentle and compassionate way!
