Great to meet you!

Starting therapy can feel like a big step, and finding the right therapist matters. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with a Doctorate in Social Work (DSW) and over 20 years of experience helping individuals work through trauma, anxiety, depression, and difficult life transitions.

I have worked in both inpatient and outpatient mental health settings and have experience supporting individuals facing complex mental health challenges. In addition to providing therapy, I have supervised other clinicians and published original research in academic journals, which helps me bring a strong evidence-based perspective to my work with clients.

I am certified in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and incorporate several evidence-based approaches depending on each client’s needs, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), exposure therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). My approach is trauma-informed, collaborative, and focused on helping clients better understand themselves while building practical tools for change.

My goal is to create a supportive and nonjudgmental space where you can talk openly, process difficult experiences, and develop strategies to move forward with greater clarity and confidence.

My approach to therapy

Many people come to therapy carrying experiences that continue to affect their thoughts, relationships, and sense of safety. My goal is to help you process those experiences and regain a sense of control and balance in your life.

My approach to therapy is collaborative, supportive, and grounded in evidence-based practices. I work with clients to better understand their experiences, identify patterns that may be keeping them stuck, and develop practical tools for lasting change.

I have a Doctorate in Social Work (DSW) and am certified in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). I incorporate several evidence-based approaches including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), exposure therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). My work is trauma-informed and tailored to each client’s individual needs.

Together, we focus on building insight, strengthening coping skills, and helping you move toward a life that feels safer, more manageable, and aligned with your values!

What you can expect from me

Your first session is an opportunity for us to begin understanding what you’re going through and what you would like to change or improve in your life. I aim to create a supportive, nonjudgmental environment where you can speak openly about your experiences and concerns at a pace that feels comfortable for you.

During this session, we will explore what has brought you to therapy, discuss any challenges related to trauma, anxiety, depression, stress, life transitions, or intrusive thoughts, and begin identifying goals for treatment. I may ask questions about your background and current situation to help build a clearer picture of what you’re experiencing.

Many clients leave the first session feeling heard, gaining initial insight into their concerns, and having a clearer sense of how therapy can help and what our work together may look like moving forward. My goal is to ensure you feel supported, understood, and confident in the next steps of the therapeutic process!

If you’re ready to begin therapy or are simply curious about how it might help, I look forward to working with you and supporting you through the process.
