Laura Rinaldi

I’m Laura, a licensed mental health counselor in NY. I studied at one of NY’s state universities, New Paltz, which is an amazing small town and college that prioritizes diversity and creativity. I consider myself a student of life. I like history, mystery and evolution. I’m passionate about stories and I have an eclectic background of interests and employment ranging from creative writing, art, hospitality, spirituality practices, and holistic wellness. I specialize in coming of age issues, teenage development, identity crises, addictions, eating disorders, grief, and life transitions. I also work with individuals going through pregnancy, post-partum/perinatal depression, or considering abortion. I will help address sensitive concerns that are meaningful and existentially difficult to navigate.

I use a lot of humor, creative thinking, and metaphor to weave together themes and bridge the multifaceted aspects of our humanity. I firmly believe we are mind, body, and soul -- and all need attention to integrate to heal. I promote eco-therapy and a holistic outlook of nature. I will always encourage you to embrace the outdoors, and to embrace the in-doors to your self. If it is of interest to you --I can use astrology or tarot readings to help build conversations around identity, archetypes and the unconscious.

I hope anyone working with me completes a session feeling heard & maybe feeling like they've uncovered something valuable about themselves. We are not just our problems. It is important to embrace and integrate the various aspects of the self, and to deeply and curiously investigate the mysteries we are. I believe our goal is to come to more awareness, more consciousness, more understanding of ourselves so that we evolve, and live more fully.
