Great to meet you!

I'm currently accepting clients in Pa. I have been practicing for 10 years. I engage my clients with respect and compassion for the coping systems they’ve adopted to relieve their pain. These coping systems tend to include substance abuse, disordered eating, repetitive body focused behaviors (like hair pulling and skin picking), and emotional detachment. I've worked for many years at The Renfrew Center (for Eating Disorder treatment), and Summit Behavioral Health (for Substance Abuse treatment). I received my masters degree in clinical social work/ social research from Bryn Mawr College.

My approach to therapy

With authenticity, professionalism, and a sense of humor, I guide my clients to reflect on the ways they’ve grown accustomed to protecting themselves. I then help my clients see the consequences of these self protective behaviors. Equipped with this awareness, clients can be more discerning in how they respond to their fears and difficulties. In other words- lets build you some safety and comfort that doesn't mess with your quality of life.

What you can expect from me

What you can expect to take away from a session with me is: 1) Clear language with which to describe your complicated experiences. 2) Clear understanding of your fears, and of the unconscious ways you protect yourself from them. 3) Clear understanding of the cost of your self protective behaviors. 4) A step you can take, over the week, to get closer to your long term goals.
