Great to meet you!

I am an LMHC specializing in integrative psychotherapy and behavioral medicine. My work focuses on the connection between psychological, social, and physical health, helping clients understand and navigate the different factors that influence their well-being. I provide psychotherapy for adults, couples, and families experiencing concerns such as anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, relationship challenges, and major life transitions.

Before becoming a mental health counselor in the U.S., I trained and practiced as a physician in Brazil and later pursued additional training in psychiatry. This background allows me to bring a unique understanding of the connection between mental and physical health to my work as a therapist. As a native Portuguese speaker and an immigrant myself, I also have a special interest in supporting immigrants as they navigate cultural adjustment, identity, relationships, and the challenges of building a life in a new country.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is compassionate, warm, open, and respectful. I strive to create a safe and supportive space where you can explore challenges, better understand your emotions and patterns, and work toward meaningful change and healing. I tailor therapy to each client’s individual needs, integrating evidence-based approaches such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), mindfulness, clinical hypnosis, solution-focused therapy, and narrative therapy.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, you can expect a warm, welcoming, and judgment-free space where we can begin getting to know each other and what brings you to therapy. We’ll talk about what you’ve been experiencing, what feels most important to you right now, and what you hope to gain from our work together. I believe therapy works best as a collaborative process, so we’ll begin identifying goals and creating an approach that feels meaningful and personalized to your needs.
