Great to meet you!

I have been in practice since 1998. My undergraduate degree was from the University of Texas at Austin in Child Development. I received my Master's degree in Counseling Psychology from St. Edwards University and I am currently a Doctoral Candidate in Education from Capella University where I focus on working with learning issues. I have contracted with Child Protective Services and I am a former Military Family and Life Counselor.

My approach to therapy

Within an integrative counseling approach, I may use a series of cognitive-behavioral methods to bring awareness to the clients on how their thoughts and behaviors are interconnected. A technique I find helpful in understanding where clients are mentally and emotionally is by asking them to complete a “life script” which is a series of questions that helps me as a counselor obtain information about the decisions the clients have made about themselves and those around them while growing up.

What you can expect from me

My goal is that after our first session together the client will feel listened to, understood, and feel empowered to make changes with the help of scaffolding that I can provide as a counselor.
