Lauren Bayer

I am a New York State Licensed Mental Health Counselor with Diagnostic Privilege (LMHC-D), Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP) and Certified Clinical Anxiety Treatment Professional (CCATP). I hold an MA degree in Developmental Psychology from Columbia University and an EdM degree in Psychological Counseling from Columbia University. I have experience providing psychotherapy to children, adolescents, and adults in individual sessions, couple sessions, family sessions, and group therapy.

I tailor my therapeutic treatment modalities to the needs of each client, ensuring a person-centered approach. I have experience working with those who suffer from varied clinical diagnoses, providing therapy in diverse settings such as outpatient therapy, partial hospitalization, inpatient substance abuse rehabilitation, residential group homes, and private practice. I am trained in Seeking Safety, Individual and Relationship Trauma, PTSD, Mindfulness, Grief Counseling, and Anger Management.

It is my hope that clients take away a feeling of empowerment over their lives. I ensure a safe and positive environment for my clients. I feel that rapport building is incredibly important. Our sessions are a space for them to feel that they can be at ease to open up, never to feel judged. Therapy is a process and I am with them on their therapeutic journey.
