Great to meet you!

Hi, I'm Lauren Brown — a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with over 5 years of experience providing compassionate, individualized care across the lifespan. I earned my Master of Science in Nursing from Vanderbilt University and have worked in diverse settings including Nationwide Children's Hospital, federally qualified health centers, and private practice. I'm licensed in Oregon.

My practice focuses on helping children, adolescents, and adults navigate challenges like ADHD, anxiety, depression, trauma, and life transitions. I have a special interest in supporting high-achieving women and girls managing ADHD, burnout, perfectionism, and emotional overwhelm — often while juggling demanding careers, family responsibilities, or academic pressures. I also work closely with individuals on the autism spectrum and their families, offering neurodivergent-affirming care that honors how your brain works.

I believe medication management work best when they're collaborative, not prescriptive. My approach blends evidence-based psychiatric treatment with practical lifestyle strategies, psychoeducation, and a genuine commitment to understanding your unique story. Whether you're a parent seeking support for your child, a professional struggling with burnout, or someone who's felt misunderstood by the healthcare system, my goal is to help you feel seen, validated, and empowered.

I specialize in long-term, relationship-centered care — meaning I'm here not just to manage symptoms, but to walk alongside you through growth, setbacks, and healing. I integrate neuroscience, trauma-informed principles, and real-world coping tools into treatment, and I offer parent coaching and family support when helpful.

Outside of clinical work, I'm passionate about creating a practice environment that feels safe, judgment-free, and human. I know how hard it can be to ask for help, and I'm honored you're considering taking that step.

My approach to therapy

My approach centers on collaboration, compassion, and evidence-based practice. I believe the strongest outcomes arise when we work together as a team, where your lived experience matters as much as my clinical training. I take time to understand your story, your aspirations, and what stands between you and the life you want, at a pace that always feels right for you.

I pair medication management with psychoeducation, lifestyle strategies, and coping tools tailored to your needs. I am passionate about neurodivergent-affirming care and helping patients grasp how their brain works, not just what is "wrong." Whether you are managing ADHD, anxiety, trauma, or burnout, I focus on building lasting insight, resilience, and sustainable change, not merely symptom suppression. Your brain is not broken; it is simply different, and that difference deserves to be understood.

Mental health is not a linear path, and I am here for the highs, the lows, and everything in between. Patients often value being heard without judgment, having their options explained clearly, and being treated as partners rather than passive recipients. I am direct when it is needed, always warm, and committed to meeting you exactly where you are.

For parents, I offer guidance that honors your expertise while adding clinical insight and practical strategies for home. For high-achieving adults, I understand perfectionism, imposter syndrome, and the exhaustion of masking. With me, you never have to pretend everything is fine, and no concern is ever too small to bring.

I weave in neuroscience education, nervous system regulation, and honest conversation about sleep, nutrition, movement, and boundaries, because your brain does not exist in a vacuum. My aim is to help you feel like yourself again, both capable and confident, with tools that keep working long after our visits. Wherever you begin, I feel honored to walk beside you toward real, lasting change, each step at a time.

What you can expect from me

Your first visit revolves completely around getting to know you—not merely your symptoms, but your entire story: what led you here at this particular moment, what you've already attempted, what's helping, what isn't, and what you genuinely wish to attain through our work together.

We'll open with a careful, thorough clinical evaluation spanning your current concerns, mental health history, medical background, family history, and earlier treatment experiences. I'll also ask about your everyday life—work, school, relationships, sleep, and stress—since context truly colors everything we do here. If you're a parent bringing in your child or teen, I'll take in your observations while building genuine rapport with your child in a warm, age-appropriate way.

This is a shared space where questions are always encouraged and my clinical reasoning is always laid out clearly for you. Should medication enter the picture, I'll walk you through the logic, how it functions, likely benefits, side effects, and other available paths. If you feel unsure, we'll explore it together with no pressure at all. Your ease with each decision matters greatly; nothing proceeds without your own full understanding and clear consent.

Hoping to feel more present with the people you love? Aiming to perform at work without burning out? Wanting to grasp how your own mind truly operates? Whatever your reasons for coming, they shape all we pursue together.

By the end of our first session, we'll hold a sharper sense of your situation and an early direction—whether medication, lifestyle shifts, or a careful blend of both. You'll head out with real clarity, clear next steps, and a follow-up plan to sustain your momentum.

Above all, you'll leave knowing this is a secure, judgment-free space where you're viewed as a whole person, never boiled down to a diagnosis or checklist of symptoms. My part is to listen, guide, and support you at every single stage.
