Great to meet you!

It takes great courage to ask for help.

I am Lauren Ellis, a New York State licensed psychologist.

Before launching my private practice in 2011, I worked in a variety of in- and out-patient settings across a variety of mental health conditions.

Some prospective patients have found it useful to know that I am a trained yoga teacher and practitioner and that I was a NYC public school teacher before I pursued a career as a psychologist.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is collaborative and acknowledges the importance of relationships in our lives. We may explore some of your earlier experiences to understand how they have impacted your approach to your current problems. That being said, my approach is also focused on building the skills to live your best life in the here and now.

What you can expect from me

At this time, all sessions are virtual and take place through the secure doxy.me healthcare platform. Sessions run for 45-50 minutes. I find it most effective to meet on a weekly basis. When we conclude our first session, you should feel that you were heard and seen. If you also have a sense of hope and confidence that I can help you with the problems you are facing, we may be on the way to a strong and useful therapeutic alliance.
