Lauren Shapiro, Licensed Mental Health Counselor, grew up in New Orleans, Louisiana, and received her Bachelors of Science Degree in Journalism from The William B. Allen School of Journalism at The University of Kansas. After working in public affairs, Lauren returned to school for her Masters of Science Degree in Professional Counseling from Lipscomb University in Nashville, Tennessee.

My approach to therapy

Lauren worked in residential alcohol and drug treatment providing counseling, case management, and group therapy as a primary therapist and clinical manager. Lauren has also worked in acute mental health facilities treating schizophrenia, bipolar and personality disorders. She has a passion for women’s issues, and for those women suffering from fertility challenges and postpartum depression. She is trained in CBT and EMDR.
