I'm Lauren :-) I am a fully Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP) with experience in acute psychiatric care, private school counseling, and private practice. I received bachelor's degree in psychology with a minor in neuroscience at Texas A&M University at College Station and my received my masters degree in counseling psychology at Houston Baptist University. I am wife to Tyler and mama to Charlotte.
I help people feeling anxious and stressed about life not feel anxious and stressed about life. We will work collaboratively, as a team, to decrease your reactivity and increase your tolerance of adverse emotional experiences. My job is not to fix you, but to help you process your emotions and allow for the development of insight as to what’s driving them. I look forward to working with you to find clarity so you can live the life you want. I utilize CBT and psychoanalytic theory.
Many people believe therapy is just to pay someone to listen to your problems. Although discussing your problems is part of the process, what you will work on with me is building awareness of your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors and how they lead to unwanted behaviors; engage in psychological education, learn triggers, practice coping skills, and complete in-between session tasks or therapy homework.
