Great to meet you!

I am a licensed Clinical Psychologist in the state of Arizona. I have a collaborative approach to the therapeutic relationship, and I believe that everyone is doing the best they can with what they have at any given moment. I also believe that everyone is capable of being better, and my role is to introduce the skills to the people that I work with to be effective.

During my upbringing, my father belonged to a private group practice where I worked in the filing room beginning from my adolescence, and my mother was a RN and the Director of Behavioral Health Services for the state. I believe that everyone has a past and everyone makes mistakes, and I believe that we can always be better.

My approach to therapy

I strive to provide empathy and support during life's hardest events. I hold space for you to participate in effective treatment designed to improve your overall quality of life. Sessions are supportive and comforting.

I began my graduate training in a Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT) program before transitioning to clinical psychology. I was trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy throughout my graduate training, internship, and post residency. I believe in celebrating the smallest of wins during your journey towards a life worth living, and I am willing to meet you wherever you are at any given moment. I also completed a fellowship in the Psychoanalytic approach.

What you can expect from me

The first session will be light-hearted. Primarily, the first session serves the purpose of collecting the biosocial information (i.e., who, what, where, when), both currently and historically. The first session is the foundation of the treatment plan, which will be developed collaboratively.

We will develop a plan to build a life that is worth living, whatever that might look like for you, in the long-term. During the initial encounter, I will not emphasize any history that you do not feel prepared to address initially. Therapy is a process that develops and improves over time.

I believe you have an innate knowing of your needs, though not everyone is given the resources to express them. I collaborate with you to identify your values that will guide the development of your goals towards a life worth living.
