Great to meet you!

I’m Lauren Smith, a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor with a master’s degree in School Counseling and Psychology, with an emphasis in Clinical Counseling, from Chapman University. I’ve provided individual therapy to adolescents, families, and adults navigating anxiety, depression, emotional regulation, and life stress. I bring a warm, practical approach to therapy and believe meaningful change starts with feeling heard and understood.

My approach to therapy

My approach is collaborative, supportive, and tailored to what matters most to you. I draw on cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, and strengths-based, trauma-informed practices to help you understand patterns, build coping skills, and make changes that feel manageable. We’ll work at a pace that feels right for you, with room for both honest reflection and practical tools you can use between sessions.

What you can expect from me

Our first session is a chance for us to get to know each other and talk about what brings you to therapy. I’ll ask about what you’re experiencing, what’s been helpful or difficult in the past, and what you hope will change. You can ask questions, share at your own pace, and leave with a clearer sense of how we might work together.
