Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m Lauren, an LCSW who provides individual sex therapy for adult women through telehealth. I help women who are struggling with low or absent sexual desire, desire differences within relationships, difficulty with arousal or orgasm, painful sex, sexual shame, and difficulty communicating about sex.

You may love your partner and still wonder, “Why don’t I want sex anymore?” You may feel pressured, disconnected from your body, embarrassed talking about sex, or unsure what you even want sexually. These concerns are more common than many women realize, and therapy offers a private, judgment-free place to understand what may be contributing to them.

My goal is not to tell you how often you should have sex or what your sex life should look like. Instead, we’ll work toward helping you better understand your sexuality, identify your needs, strengthen your sense of choice and agency, and create a sexual life that feels authentic and satisfying to you.

My approach to therapy

My approach is warm, collaborative, practical, trauma-informed, and sex-positive. I use a person-centered and strengths-based foundation along with approaches such as CBT, Solution-Focused Therapy, and psychoeducation tailored to your specific concerns.

Sex therapy is talk therapy. Depending on your goals, our work may include understanding how sexual desire and arousal work, identifying your sexual “brakes and accelerators,” exploring the effects of stress, medications, body image, relationship dynamics, past experiences, shame, and sexual expectations, and strengthening communication and boundaries.

We may also explore body awareness, pleasure, intimacy, and the difference between spontaneous and responsive desire. There is no predetermined definition of a “healthy” sex life—we focus on what sexual wellbeing means for you.

What you can expect from me

You can expect a space where you can talk openly about sex without embarrassment, judgment, or pressure. We will begin by understanding your concerns, sexual history, relationships, health factors, and what you would like to be different.

From there, we’ll develop a plan based on your goals. I often combine conversation, psychoeducation, practical exercises, and optional between-session reflection or homework so that what we discuss in therapy can translate into meaningful change in your life.

Over time, my goal is for you to leave therapy with a clearer understanding of your sexual desire, stronger communication and boundaries, less shame or pressure surrounding sex, and greater confidence in identifying what you want and need sexually.
