Great to meet you!

Welcome. Reaching out for therapy often happens after carrying stress, responsibilities, and emotional pain on your own for far too long. You may be feeling overwhelmed by anxiety, struggling to recover from trauma, navigating a difficult life transition, experiencing relationship challenges, or questioning who you are and where you fit. I work with adolescents and adults facing anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, grief and loss, family conflict, women's issues, maternal mental health concerns, identity exploration, self-esteem challenges, and relationship difficulties. As a Black woman, mother, caregiver, and mental health professional, I understand how culture, family expectations, life experiences, and multiple responsibilities can impact emotional wellness. My goal is to provide a supportive space where you can explore your experiences openly, gain insight into patterns that may be holding you back, and develop practical tools that help you move toward healing, confidence, and lasting personal growth.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is holistic, collaborative, and tailored to your individual needs. I believe meaningful change happens when therapy honors your unique experiences, strengths, values, and personal goals. I draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused CBT, Solution-Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Family Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Child-Parent Psychotherapy, Behavioral Therapy, Humanistic Therapy, Gestalt Therapy, Psychoeducation, Strengths-Based Therapy, and Trauma-Informed Care. Together, we will explore the thoughts, emotions, experiences, and relationship patterns that influence your daily life while building practical coping strategies for managing anxiety, depression, stress, grief, trauma responses, family conflict, and emotional overwhelm. I also recognize the important role that culture, identity, family dynamics, and lived experiences play in mental health. Sessions are designed to help you build self-awareness, emotional resilience, confidence, communication skills, and healthier ways of navigating challenges both now and in the future.

What you can expect from me

You can expect a welcoming, nonjudgmental, and empowering therapeutic environment where you feel heard, respected, and supported. We will work together to identify your goals, understand the challenges you're facing, and create a path forward that feels realistic and meaningful. Through therapy, many clients develop stronger coping skills, improved emotional regulation, healthier boundaries, greater self-confidence, stronger relationships, and a deeper sense of clarity about who they are and what they need. My role is to help you move from feeling stuck or overwhelmed toward feeling more balanced, confident, and equipped to navigate life's challenges with greater resilience and purpose.
