Great to meet you!

My name is Lauren Mears, and I am Licensed Professional Counselor. I have experience working with adolescents and adults with a wide range of challenges, cultural backgrounds, and future desires. I strive to empower my clients to uncover and highlight their strengths as we process through their life experiences and begin to move forward with a new perspective.

My approach to therapy

I have experience with helping clients increase their emotion regulation skills, heal from trauma and grief, navigate life transitions, and improve their relationship with themselves and others. I believe that each person is the expert of their own story, and their time is valuable. Together, we will highlight your many strengths and promote them to assist you in overcoming things that challenge you. I have training in approaches such as Client-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Trauma-Focused Therapy.

What you can expect from me

It takes courage to seek out a more fulfilling and satisfying life and to take the first steps towards a change. During our first session, my goal is to get to know you. In addition to what brought you into therapy, I want to take time to learn about your family, life experiences, values, and background. Of course, it is also important for clients to learn more about me, my approach, and my personality. All that information will help us to figure out how to design our path for progress.
