Great to meet you!

Growing up in the 1980's and 90's, I can attribute much of my world-view to that icon of empathy - Mr. Rogers. He instilled in me the belief that every person deserves to feel seen, valued, and loved - just as they are, and I have taken that belief with me into my life as a social worker and therapist. In 2015, I received a Master's degree in Social Work from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, and for the next 6 years, I had the privilege of working as a stay-at-home mom to three daughters.

I have spent the last five years providing therapy services in my community- supporting families, children, adolescents, and young adults. I specialize in working with children and adolescents who have experienced trauma, who are on the spectrum or have ADHD, or who are experiencing challenges related to anxiety or depression. However, I have experience working with individuals of many ages and backgrounds and clients struggling with a wide range of symptoms and life circumstances.

I am LGBTQ+ affirming and strive to make my practice a safe space for everyone.

My approach to therapy

I have an eclectic approach to therapy, so I often utilize various elements of one of the many therapy acronyms I am trained in (EMDR, DBT, TF-CBT...).

I like to incorporate my clients' creativity into our sessions- sometimes using music, art, and movement to increase engagement and connection.

The foundation of my entire practice, however, is the development of a strong therapeutic relationship between myself and my clients.

What you can expect from me

In every session, I will do my best to provide a space where clients can feel comfortable and free to express themselves.

Over the course of our time together, I will work alongside my clients to help them build the skills they need to feel confident in their ability to function at their best when they are out in the world.
