Great to meet you!

My name is Lauren Przepiora-Wilson, and I am a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner with a Master of Science in Nursing from Purdue University. I am passionate about providing thoughtful, evidence-based mental health care to individuals across the full lifespan — from children and adolescents to adults and seniors.

I have a specialized focus in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, and I find deep meaning in supporting young people and their families through some of the most formative — and sometimes most difficult — years of life. My primary clinical areas include ADD/ADHD, depression, PTSD, OCD, and anxiety. I also work with clients navigating bipolar disorder, borderline personality, eating disorders, trauma, grief and loss, sleep difficulties, substance use, stress, anger management, domestic violence, relationship issues, family concerns, transgender issues, and women's mental health needs.

Whether I am working with a child, a teenager, an adult, or an older adult, my commitment is the same: to provide compassionate, individualized care that respects the whole person and their unique life experience.

My approach to therapy

My approach is collaborative, structured, and always tailored to the individual — or the family — in front of me. I believe that effective mental health care requires both clinical rigor and genuine human connection, and I work hard to bring both to every session.

For individuals, I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients identify and reshape the thought patterns and behaviors that are keeping them stuck. CBT is one of the most well-researched approaches in mental health, and I find it especially effective for depression, anxiety, OCD, PTSD, and ADD/ADHD — conditions that respond well to clear, skill-building frameworks.

For families — and particularly when working with children and adolescents — I incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Family Therapy, which brings the family system into the treatment process. When a young person is struggling, their environment and relationships matter enormously. I work with families to improve communication, build understanding, and create the kind of supportive home environment where healing can happen.

I approach every age group with the attentiveness their stage of life requires. With children and adolescents, I am attuned to developmental context, school and social pressures, and the critical role families play. With adults and seniors, I respect the complexity and depth that comes with lived experience — including the unique challenges that can arise later in life.

What you can expect from me

Whether you're bringing in yourself, your child, or your family, the first session is about one thing: getting to know each other.

I'll ask about what's been going on, how long things have felt difficult, and what you're hoping might be different. For parents bringing in a child or teen, I'll want to hear both the parent's perspective and the young person's — because both matter, and both shape the care I provide.

I'll also gather some history — mental health, medical, and family background — to help me understand the fuller picture. This isn't about checking boxes; it's about making sure I truly understand what you or your loved one is experiencing before we talk about next steps.

By the end of our first session, we'll have begun to outline a direction for care. This might include a treatment plan, medication considerations, therapy goals, or a combination. Everything will be discussed openly, and nothing will move forward without your understanding and agreement.

My goal is for you to leave that first appointment feeling like you made the right call in coming — and with a sense of genuine hope about what lies ahead.
