Great to meet you!

I believe therapy works best when it feels human, so let me start by telling you a little about me. Outside of session, you will usually find me outdoors. I take long walks with my husband and our dachshund. I spend as much time in nature as I can, I go to yoga classes, longboard and sing. Those things keep me grounded, and they are part of why I believe so much in the value of small, sustainable practices that bring you back to yourself.

In my practice, I work with adults navigating depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, trauma, and questions of identity. I also support people through family issues, relationship struggles, stress and burnout, ADHD, and grief. I am inquisitive, warm, and not easily rattled.

My approach to therapy

I do not think there is one right way to do therapy, so I draw from several approaches and adapt to what actually helps you. I use CBT, ACT, and behavioral activation to work with thought patterns and get you moving toward what matters, even when motivation is low. I lean on solution focused and problem-solving therapy when you need traction on something specific and soon. When we are looking at deeper patterns, I use psychodynamic and narrative work to understand where they came from and to help you tell your story on your own terms. Motivational interviewing, strength-based therapy, and positive psychology run through all of it, because I am always looking for what is already working in your life and how we can build on it.

Practically, that means I will ask questions, offer honest reflections, and sometimes suggest something to try between sessions. I will also follow your lead. You are the expert on your life, and my job is to help you use what you already know.

What you can expect from me

Mostly a conversation. I will ask what brought you in now, what you have already tried, and what you would like to be different. You do not need to have it all organized or explained perfectly before you arrive. If something feels too tender to get into on day one, we can leave it for later.

Toward the end, I will share my initial thoughts on how I can help and what our work together might look like, and we will talk through your goals and any questions you have about the process. My hope is that you leave feeling heard, a little lighter, and clear on what comes next.
