Great to meet you!

I didn’t initially plan on becoming a therapist, but after switching to social work, I knew I’d found the right path. I’ve been licensed since 2005 and work with adults and older adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, PTSD, substance use, and long-term stress. My approach is warm and direct, and I’m genuinely invested in helping each person feel supported and make meaningful progress.

My approach to therapy

My style is practical and collaborative. We’ll talk through what’s actually going on, not just the surface version, using cognitive behavioral techniques to notice patterns that keep showing up. I also draw on motivational interviewing to build momentum toward change, strength-based work that starts with what’s already working for you, and mindfulness and emotion-focused techniques when it helps to slow down and sit with a feeling instead of managing it. I’ve been doing this since 2001, so not much rattles me.

What you can expect from me

Our first session is mostly about getting to know each other: what’s bringing you in, what you’ve already tried, and what you want to be different. I ask direct questions and I’m honest with you, but I’m not here to judge. From there we build a plan together and check in regularly on whether it’s working. Most clients tell me they feel heard, and a little lighter, after our first conversation.
