Great to meet you!

A concern that brings you to therapy rarely stays in one part of your life. Worry can interrupt your sleep. A difficult relationship can affect your concentration. A major change can leave you questioning decisions that once felt clear. I’m interested in understanding those connections and helping you figure out where to begin.

-

I’m a licensed clinical psychologist and have worked in private practice since 2007. I earned my Ph.D. from Drexel University and completed a fellowship at the University of Rochester Medical Center, along with additional training in marriage and family therapy. My background helps me consider how your health, relationships, and daily routines influence what you’re experiencing.

-

I work with adults navigating anxiety, depression, grief, relationship concerns, and life transitions. My experience also includes supporting people through medical illness and women’s health changes, including infertility, postpartum concerns, and menopause.

-

In our conversations, we’ll make room for what’s difficult to explain while also identifying things you can try. I want to understand what matters to you, what you’ve already done to cope, and what you’d like to be different.

My approach to therapy

I look at how your thoughts, habits, and circumstances interact. When you’re feeling anxious or low, it can be hard to see which responses help and which leave you feeling worse. We’ll examine those patterns together and identify manageable changes you can try between sessions.

-

I draw on cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness, motivational interviewing, and positive psychology. That might mean questioning a persistent assumption, practicing how to respond to worry, or talking through mixed feelings about a decision. We’ll also pay attention to strengths and strategies you already use.

-

My training in marriage and family therapy informs how I understand relationship dynamics, even in individual sessions. We’ll consider the people and circumstances around you as we work toward goals that matter to you.

What you can expect from me

Our first session is a chance to talk about what led you to schedule an appointment and what you’d like help with. I’ll ask how things have been going day to day, including your mood, sleep, relationships, and any recent changes or pressures.

-

We’ll discuss relevant parts of your history and, if you’ve been in therapy before, what you found useful or frustrating. You can also ask me questions and tell me what you’re hoping for from our work.

-

Before we finish, we’ll discuss where it makes sense to begin. You don’t need to tell your whole story in one sitting or arrive with clearly defined goals. We can work those out together.
