Great to meet you!

Hi there! My name is Laurie. I’m a warm, supportive psychotherapist who helps individuals and young adults (15+) feel safe, understood and hopeful as they work through challenges. I use a trauma-informed approach and am trained in EMDR, Accelerated Resolution Therapy (A.R.T.), CBT, and several other evidence-based modalities. Before becoming a therapist, I worked on camera as a news anchor and reporter across several states, which deepened my understanding of people’s stories and resilience. I’m bilingual, having lived in Argentina for roughly two years. And here's my happiest trait.... I'm a mom to four adult kids and a grandmother to three!

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is warm, collaborative, and trauma-informed. I help clients feel safe and supported as we work through anxiety, depression, stress, trauma and many other life challenges at a pace that feels manageable. I integrate EMDR, Accelerated Resolution Therapy (A.R.T.), CBT, and other evidence-based approaches to help clients process difficult experiences and create lasting change. I also focus on building practical skills while supporting deeper emotional healing and self-understanding.

What you can expect from me

The most important factor in creating a successful therapeutic relationship is making sure the client feels safe, understood, heard and supported. I take that step very seriously always but especially in the first session. I will do a bit of information gathering but I mostly listen in the first appointment. I also provide time for the client to ask questions of me!
