Great to meet you!

I know from personal experience how counseling can be hard to start and a little scary! New habits and change are challenging. I want you to know that the work and risk for healing is so worth it! It's a privilege for me to walk with you through this journey and will do everything I can to help you heal and grow. I hope you will actively participate and I have lots of tools to help you cope, manage stress and have a healthier relationship with yourself and others.

My approach to therapy

Thanks for reading my bio! Before becoming an LPC-S I was an RN who worked in Maternal Child, ER and Psych. I wanted to help others in a preventative way- before hospitalization. I worked for 22 years for the military as a counselor and doing research. I am a "CCATP- Certified Clinical Anxiety Treatment Professional" and have completed the 9 month course for my Certificate in Trauma Stress Studies from the Trauma Research Foundation. I have been in practice for 26 years and have cared for clients ages 3-75. I have traveled the world but am originally from San Antonio, TX and call that home. I live in Texas with my husband, a Corgi and a Dachshund, and enjoy being with my kids and grandkids gardening, cooking, swimming and shopping.

What you can expect from me

Our first session will be for us to get to know each other a little bit. It might feel like a bit of an interview, but this will help me quickly formulate a treatment plan. Feel free to share anything that you feel comfortable talking about. I've heard it all and I promise I won't judge you or be shocked by anything you tell me. After I share the Treatment Plan with you, we can decide if we are good fit. If we are, please plan to start with one session weekly for 6 weeks. That will give you a good foundation and get the healing momentum going! I appreciate your trust and am honored to walk this path with you on this part of your journey.
