Great to meet you!

Hi there! I am so excited to take this journey with you towards enjoying life again. I am a counselor from Southern Virginia with experience and specialized training in trauma, mood disorders and life adjustments. In our first session, I'll take time to get to know you and your desire for therapy while building rapport to help us both feel comfortable in this new relationship.

My approach to therapy

I have a Christian foundation in my work. Whether you identify as Christian or not, I believe that everyone is valuable yet also inherently flawed and it is through grace and faith that we are capable of overcoming life’s challenges and maintaining hope for a positive future. There is nothing we have experienced in life that we cannot overcome and there is no mistake that we have made that we cannot recover from.

What you can expect from me

Making Peace Counseling & Consulting helps young adults who feel trapped replaying old traumas and pains to feel grounded in the present moment. Using Internal Family Systems (IFS) principles, I will work with you to stop blaming and shaming yourself and embrace that inner peace and confidence that comes from the spirit God has placed in us all. From this place we are able to handle any challenge and overcome any obstacle with compassion, clarity, confidence and curiosity.
