Dr. Lavon Williams

I'm a board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner. I have over 15 years of experience helping individuals suffering from mental illness, providing direct care services across the lifespan in a variety of settings.

My target population of care includes children and adolescents with ADHD and behavioral issues; adult clients with depression, anxiety, PTSD, ADD/ADHD, and substance abuse disorders, as well as having a specialized focus on the veteran and elderly populations who need mental health treatment.

I offer a range of treatment modalities, including holistic treatment options and medication management.

I often use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) in my practice. In your first session, we'll explore what brought you to therapy and decide the most appropriate ways to help you progress. With CBT, we'll look at how your thoughts affect your emotions and experience. During treatment, I'll help you learn how to push back against those thoughts to improve your feelings and regain your mental balance.

We will meet with you for an extensive interview and psychiatric evaluation in which we will gather some information, such as your history, symptoms, and family dynamics. In this first session, we will determine the best course of action.
