LaVonne Ricks

I have a master's degree in social work and over ten years of experience as a social worker. I specialize in providing therapy for role transitions, anxiety, depression, women's issues, and perinatal mood disorders. My focus is on teen girls, women's issues, and perinatal mental health. I have experience as a hospital social worker, children and family mental health clinician, and child welfare worker.

My clinical style for practice is a blend of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Interpersonal Psychotherapy, and Solution-Focused therapy to provide education on how individuals' thoughts, feelings, and behavioral patterns might affect self-reflecting and relationships with others. Another critical element of my practice highlights how various mindsets affect individuals' viewpoints toward future goals.

Clients can expect to gain a deeper understanding of their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, as well as practical strategies to address their concerns. I aim to provide a supportive and non-judgmental space for clients to explore their challenges and work towards positive change. Together, we will work on identifying and modifying unhelpful thinking patterns, improving communication and relationships, and developing effective coping skills.
