Great to meet you!

I am a dual board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner and Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with experience in primary care, behavioral health, and substance use treatment. I earned my Doctor of Nursing Practice and specialize in providing psychiatric evaluation and medication management for adults experiencing anxiety, depression, mood disorders, trauma-related concerns, substance use disorders, and co-occurring mental health conditions.

In addition to my healthcare background, I have nearly three decades of experience in the fire service and public-safety leadership. This gives me a unique understanding of first-responder culture and the occupational stressors that can affect mental health. I have a particular interest in supporting firefighters, EMS professionals, law enforcement officers, healthcare professionals, and other public-safety personnel, while welcoming adults from all backgrounds

My approach to therapy

My approach is collaborative, compassionate, and straightforward. I want you to feel comfortable talking openly about what you are experiencing without fear of judgment. I take time to listen and understand you as a whole person rather than focusing solely on a diagnosis or prescribing medication based on symptoms alone.

Because of my background in both physical and mental healthcare, I consider how medical conditions, medications, sleep, lifestyle, relationships, occupational stress, substance use, and other factors may be affecting your mental health. When medication is appropriate, we will discuss the available options, potential benefits and risks, and your preferences before making decisions together.

My goal is to combine evidence-based psychiatric care with a practical treatment plan that fits your life.

What you can expect from me

Your first appointment is an opportunity for me to understand you, not just your symptoms. We will discuss what brought you to treatment, your current concerns, medical and psychiatric history, medications, sleep, substance use when relevant, relationships, work and life stressors, and what you would like to improve.

You can expect a relaxed, respectful, and judgment-free conversation where questions are encouraged. We will identify your priorities, discuss possible diagnoses when appropriate, and develop an initial treatment plan together. If medication may be helpful, I will explain the options and answer your questions so that you can make an informed decision about your care.

My goal is for you to leave the first appointment feeling heard, having a clearer understanding of what we are addressing, and knowing what our next steps will be.
