Great to meet you!

I believe effective mental health care begins with trust, collaboration, and respect. My approach is empowering, compassionate, open-minded, and culturally sensitive. I provide a safe, nonjudgmental environment where adolescents and adults feel heard, respected, and actively involved in their care. I combine a holistic, whole-person perspective with evidence-based psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, medication management, and supportive psychotherapy to create personalized treatment plans that promote lasting wellness.

I am a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) with more than 20 years of nursing experience in hospitals, outpatient clinics, private practices, community health centers, and behavioral health settings. I treat a wide range of conditions, including depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, ADHD, trauma-related disorders, psychotic disorders, and other complex mental health concerns.

My career also includes international humanitarian work with the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), where I cared for individuals affected by conflict and crisis. This experience strengthened my commitment to providing compassionate, culturally responsive, and patient-centered care for people from diverse backgrounds.

In addition to my clinical practice, I am the author of several mental health publications that reflect my dedication to education, evidence-based practice, and improving patient outcomes. I currently provide comprehensive psychiatric care through Oasis Behavioral Health and Elevated Behavioral and Transitional Health.

My goal is to partner with you to develop practical, individualized strategies that improve emotional well-being, daily functioning, and overall quality of life.

My approach to therapy

My approach to providing care is patient-centered, empowering, and collaborative. I work with adolescents and adults in a nonjudgmental, culturally sensitive environment where they feel heard and actively involved in their treatment. My style is both holistic and analytical, combining a whole-person perspective with evidence-based assessment, diagnosis, and medication management.

I develop individualized treatment plans that may include pharmacologic interventions, brief psychotherapy, and lifestyle considerations, depending on each client’s needs and goals. I emphasize clear communication, education, and shared decision-making to promote long-term stability and functional improvement.

My clinical focus includes mood disorders, anxiety disorders, trauma-related conditions, and complex or treatment-resistant cases, with an emphasis on delivering safe, effective, and measurable outcomes.

What you can expect from me

Clients can expect a structured, supportive, and nonjudgmental first session where the primary goal is to understand them as a whole person. I begin with a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation, exploring current concerns, symptoms, medical and mental health history, medications, and relevant social and lifestyle factors.

I create a calm, respectful environment where adolescents and adults feel comfortable sharing openly. During the session, we work collaboratively to clarify concerns, identify initial goals, and begin forming an individualized treatment plan. This may include diagnostic impressions, education about symptoms, and discussion of treatment options such as medication, therapy, and lifestyle strategies.

By the end of the first session, clients can expect a clearer understanding of their condition, a preliminary plan for care, and defined next steps, with an emphasis on safety, stability, and achievable outcomes.
