Great to meet you!

I am a great listener with compassion for others. I help clients steer towards their therapeutic goals while letting them lead. Having been in practice since 2020 when I was able to receive great experience working with students and community mental health in Flagstaff, AZ for clients of diverse backgrounds and needs. I am now seeing clients in Payson, AZ over telehealth and in-person at a gorgeous, historic house/office space (which has been a wellness practice as a doctor's office or psychotherapy place since 1927). My background as a yoga teacher shapes my style towards body-mind connection modalities and activities for clients.

My approach to therapy

I have a holistic approach which includes a mind body connection, as science supports this for best outcomes with improving depression, anxiety, stress reduction and processing trauma. I encourage and support the individual in addressing goals for therapy and collaborate on what would be most helpful in this process. Mindfulness and somatic activities are often guided in session as well as exploring more helpful ways of thinking and coping with daily life stresses, CBT and DBT modalities with parts work, and eventually processing trauma and anxiety with EMDR.

What you can expect from me

The initial few sessions are focused on intake and history, with short assessments to get to know the person and their needs. Some short mindfulness activities are usually guided during or at end of session with encouragement to practice in daily life as needed to reduce stress/lift depression/increase focus. Ultimately, the client is able to talk and share about what they are going through regularly with empathy and solution focused guidance- which is an important part of relief, healing and change.
