Great to meet you!

I believe that therapy is a collaborative partnership between the client and myslef-- a working relationship between equals. As one who has gone through several life challenges, motherhood as a divorced parent, and a career change as a single parent, I have remained grateful and happy as a mother, a human being and as a psychotherapist (21 years and still counting!). I've been a Network Manager for a County funded mental health plan; clinical auditor; trainer for clinicians, clinical mentor; clinical supervisor for MFT interns and Social Work associates, utilization review manager, and lead intake assessor.

I have a Masters degree in Psychology. I am successful in helping clients address challenges related to: self esteem, codependency, women's issues, trauma and abuse, complex PTSD, generational trauma, depression, anxiety, family of origin, acculturation, dating, neurodivergence (ADHD, Autism spectrum), life transitions and life stages, grief, parenting, single parenthood and co-parenting. I am an LGBTQIA+ ally.

A bit about my approach to therapy

I believe that therapy is a collaborative partnership and process between the client and the therapist -- it's a working relationship between equals. I view a client as a whole person and not a bag of symptoms. I have a warm, empowering and humorous way of helping clients make sense of their experiences and behaviors. I use EMDR, CBT, Mindfulness, Strengths based, Solution Focused, Family Systems, Gottman relationship principles, Gestalt, EFT (tapping), Seeking Safety and ACT (Acceptance and Commitment) interventions.

What you can expect from our first session

Clients can expect to gain insights about themselves and those who have or continue to impact their lives. I offer coping, thought restructuring, assertive communication, grounding and somatic exercise skills that you can use so that you can experience relief from your symptoms. I help clients remember their goodness and worth so that they can take space as their powerful human selves. I do hold clients accountable for their progress since they are the ones living their lives, not me.
