Great to meet you!

I believe that healing begins with feeling genuinely seen, heard, and understood. My own life experiences taught me the power of having someone who continues to show up with compassion, hope, and encouragement—even during life's most difficult moments. That experience inspired me to become a social worker and therapist, and it continues to shape how I care for every client I work with.

I have over 12 years of experience in mental health and social services and have been a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) for the past three years, after practicing as a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) for five years. Throughout my career, I've worked with children, adolescents, adults, couples, families, and individuals experiencing severe mental illness, trauma, homelessness, foster care involvement, school-related challenges, and major life transitions. My background includes school social work, crisis intervention, rehabilitation counseling, psychotherapy, case management, and program development, giving me a well-rounded understanding of the many factors that impact mental health.

I specialize in helping clients navigate anxiety, self-esteem, relationship concerns, family conflict, life transitions, stress, grief, trauma, communication difficulties, compassion fatigue, motivation, and coping with change. Whether you're facing a specific challenge or simply feeling overwhelmed, my goal is to provide a safe, supportive space where you can better understand yourself, build practical skills, and create meaningful, lasting change.

I believe that you are the expert on your own life. My role isn't to tell you what to do—it's to walk alongside you, helping you recognize your strengths, overcome obstacles, and build the life you want with confidence and resilience.

My approach to therapy

My approach is warm, collaborative, structured, and strengths-based. I strive to create an environment where clients feel comfortable being themselves while also feeling challenged to grow. Therapy should be more than simply talking about problems—it should help you leave each session with greater understanding, practical tools, and confidence to handle life's challenges.

I use a person-centered, trauma-informed approach that recognizes how your experiences, relationships, culture, and environment all influence your mental health. I integrate evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, mindfulness, trauma-focused interventions, and strengths-based techniques. Rather than using a one-size-fits-all approach, I tailor therapy to your unique needs, goals, and personality.

I also believe in building a strong foundation before processing difficult experiences. If trauma is part of your story, we'll first focus on developing healthy coping skills, emotional regulation, and a sense of safety before exploring painful memories. My goal is to help you feel supported—not overwhelmed—throughout the process.

Whether we're working on anxiety, relationships, self-esteem, life transitions, communication, family dynamics, or stress, we'll work together to identify meaningful goals, celebrate progress, and build lasting skills that extend beyond our sessions.

What you can expect from me

I want your first session to feel welcoming, relaxed, and free of pressure. Beginning therapy can feel intimidating, so my priority is creating a space where you feel comfortable getting to know me just as much as I'm getting to know you.

Before our first appointment, we'll have a brief consultation so we can introduce ourselves, answer any questions, and determine whether we're a good fit. During our first full session, I'll spend time learning about you—your story, your current concerns, what's working, what's not, and what you hope to gain from therapy. If you're unsure where to start or don't yet know your goals, that's completely okay. We'll work together to identify what feels most important.

Together, we'll begin developing a personalized treatment plan that fits your needs. I don't believe therapy should simply be a place to vent, although there is certainly space for processing emotions. I strive to make each session purposeful and collaborative, helping you leave with new insight, practical coping strategies, or skills you can begin using between sessions. My hope is that you'll leave feeling heard, supported, and confident that we're building a path forward together.
