Great to meet you!

I help people navigating life transitions and relationship difficulties to set boundaries and communicate their needs and wants in a way that creates the best outcomes for them and their loved ones, but some might also say that I make exploring your hard truths and expressing your vulnerabilities fun. Working together we will use evidence-based, systemic models, humor, empathy, and the occasional f-bomb to explore the parts of your life that you’re looking to change, shift the beliefs that are keeping you stuck, create connection, and let go of the parts of your life that no longer serve you in a healthy way.

For couples working with me, you can expect all of the above plus a reworking of the common ways you respond to one another in order to help make difficult conversations easier and for both of you to get more understanding, validation, empathy and teamwork and less battling, confusion, and resentment when it comes to the issues you face together.

My approach to therapy

I believe that people are often doing the best they can in the position they have found themselves and am passionate about fostering hope in my clients and helping them develop skills to meet their goals. We work together to meet your goals by reworking the common ways you respond to others in order to help make difficult conversations easier and for you to get more understanding, validation, empathy and teamwork and less battling, confusion, and resentment when it comes to the issues you face with others. I find that every person has a wealth of strengths to work from and, by capitalizing on those, they are able to grow and improve their bonds with others.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, you can expect a conversation where we get to know each other better. We'll talk about what made you decide to start therapy now, what you think is contributing to keeping you stuck, the psychological mechanisms that are maintaining the system you find yourself in and then we will, together, create a roadmap for making the changes you're looking for. You can expect to walk away from your first session feeling better understood, having developed preliminary therapy goals and having an understanding of how we intend to get there.
