Great to meet you!

Hi, I am an LCSW from the state of California with a Bachelors in psychology from the College of Charleston and a Masters of Social Work from San Diego State University. I have over 20 years of experience working in a hospital setting with chronic illness. I am also a skilled CBT practitioner with expertise in areas of depression, anxiety, postpartum depression, grief and bereavement who employs active listening skills, empathy, and warmth to provide guidance in a kind respectful manner.

A bit about my approach to therapy

I approach a challenge from a CBT perspective in order to empower individuals to recognize the automatic thoughts that have been hindering them in some way. With reflective and supportive guidance I encourage the client to identify adaptive strategies to reverse these thoughts and seek change.

What you can expect from our first session

I encourage clients to identify long and short term goals that are measurable, achievable, and specific. I believe that actively scheduling enjoyable activities and being able to notice the positive occurrences in one's life can lead to improved mood and enhanced quality of life.
