Leah Fein

Hello. I have 29 years experience working with children, adolescents, and adults treating anxiety, depression, and unresolved trauma. I also specialize in problem-resolution for those in non-traditional families. I work with children ages 6-18 and adults. I am specifically trained in advanced family therapy techniques, as well as trauma-informed skills. I use these skills and others to help with alternative relationships such as those in the kink community, and the polyamorous/ethically non-monogamous communities. I know how difficult it is to find a therapist that is experienced and familiar with those issues.

I’m a licensed marriage and family therapist. My preferred modality is Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy. I offer short-term, solution-oriented therapy so no one feels that change will take forever. I enjoy helping people identify what the obstacles are to feeling content, confident, and safe; once the obstacles are known, resolving and removing them is much easier.

It’s important to remember that almost everyone is nervous when they do difficult, new things. First meetings can feel awkward but my approach is easy. I’ll ask what caused you to seek therapy now rather than earlier, and what is one short-time goal for us to focus on to begin. As far as business stuff, I’ll review the meaning of, and the limitations to, therapeutic confidentiality.
