Great to meet you!

Welcome to my profile! My name is Leah Goodwin and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor. I graduated from my master's program with a degree in counselor education in 2023 and have been practicing for 2.5 years. I provide individual therapy for teenagers and adults.

My approach to therapy

My work mostly involves utilizing the therapeutic relationship to build a safe and supportive space to help you start to help you reflect inward on yourself to develop skills you can carry over to multiple areas of your life. I often bring curiosity to the table as a factor for change and like to invite you to practice doing the same in our work together. I also like to provide an inviting space for LGBTQ+ and neurodivergent individuals through understanding social barriers and providing a calming space to explore without judgment or fear.

What you can expect from me

Our first session is to learn about you and your life. I will often ask questions about different areas of your life which I know can feel overwhelming. I always emphasize if there is anything you do not want to share to talk about, we can come back to it if/when you do. I also like to explore what brings you into therapy and the goals you want to initially set for yourself, knowing that they can change as we go along this process together.
