Leah McGee

I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with a Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and a background in psychology. I have over three years of experience working with children and adolescents, helping them navigate challenges and build emotional resilience.

My clinical journey began at Hibiscus Children's Center, where I worked closely with children who experienced abuse and neglect. Since then, I've specialized as a sexual abuse therapist and have completed two years of training in Florida's Sexual Abuse Treatment Program (SATP). I am also Gottman Level 1 certified, which allows me to incorporate relationship-based techniques into my work when appropriate.

My approach is trauma-informed and grounded in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), while also being person-centered. I prioritize creating a safe, supportive environment where clients feel heard, respected, and understood. Within this space, I collaborate with clients to develop practical tools that help them better understand and manage their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. My work is guided by empathy, authenticity, and a belief in each individual’s capacity for growth and healing.

Our first session is all about getting to know each other and helping you feel comfortable with the therapy process.

We'll go over important things like confidentiality and what you can expect from therapy. I'II also take time to learn more about you—who you are, what you've been going through, and what you'd like help with-so I can support you in the best way possible.
