I know you’re struggling – maybe a little, maybe a lot, maybe it depends on which way the wind is blowing. Maybe you’ve been finding yourself getting intoxicated more frequently or shopping online for hours on end. Do you have an addiction? Does it matter? Are you ready to explore it? Maybe you want to be sober, maybe you want to moderate, maybe you have no idea which way is up. I’m here to help you figure it out. I want you to have a sounding board where you can identify your goals, learn how to live in line with your values, determine next steps to move in a direction that feels like... forward.
Maybe you struggle with substances, spending, gambling, maybe the way you do or don't engage in sex feels “bad” to you. I will not judge you. I will not force you to align with what others believe is acceptable. I want to help you find your way and your worth. I want you to start to separate the Shitty Committee in your head from your true voice. I want you to find a life that feels meaningful, fun, worth being part of.
I’ll challenge you, support you, validate your experiences because they are valid. If you need a laugh, let's get bawdy; a cry, I'll be still with you. Therapy works best when you’re able to be transparent with your providers and, out of respect for you, I will be transparent with you. If you want a therapist who is genuine and down to earth, who knows that there are very real barriers to “just change what you don’t like”, who thinks outside of the box but can stay in with you, too, please reach out. I’m here to help. I promise.
I wake up every morning (and I am TOTALLY willing to meet with you at 6am – you know you want to start [or end] your day with a therapy session!) knowing that recovery of all kinds is possible. I have an overabundance of hope for the individuals I work with because I know that life gets... different... when we do the work. And usually, different is better.
