Great to meet you!

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker specializing in trauma-informed, strengths-based individual therapy. As a person in long-term recovery, I understand the importance of rediscovering what makes life worth living.

I earned my MSW from the University of Southern California and a BA in Music from the University of California Los Angeles. I am a guitarist, singer-songwriter, proud cat dad, lover of all space related things, and an avid hockey fan.

My approach to therapy

The therapeutic environment must be nonjudgmental and engaging. To that end, I seek to foster a safe and enjoyable therapy experience. What does this look like? Picture laughter, self love, and the feeling you get when you have an "AHA moment!"

When working with clients, I pride myself on explaining “the why behind the what.” Not only is it important to offer useful tools with which to navigate life’s challenges, but also to explain how and why they work, and to deliver this information from multiple angles so as to accommodate a variety of learning styles. Knowledge is power!

I combine elements of CBT, DBT, insight-oriented therapy, parts work, as well as other evidence based therapeutic modalities. I strive to make every client feel seen, heard, and appreciated for who they are. My mission is to subvert shame and stigma and to walk alongside clients on their journey to wholeness.

What you can expect from me

In our initial session, I hope to learn what you hope to get out of this experience. What are your goals? Have you been in therapy before? If so, what worked? What didn't work?

While I'm getting to know you, I'll be making a list of your strengths. Some of these you may already be aware of. Some of them you may not. Using a strengths-based approach, my hope is that our sessions will help you to feel empowered to achieve your goals. Using a client-centered approach, my hope is meet you where you are and tailor my approach to meet your desires and needs.

Healing can be a gradual process. The roadmap will reveal itself along the way. That being said, my goal within the first session is to have an idea of what a viable treatment plan might look like.
