Great to meet you!

I have a Masters degree in Professional Counseling and am credential by The National Board of Certified Counselors. My professional background is in trauma recovery and forensic psychology, meaning I have approached trauma on from both ends of the spectrum. There is little I haven't seen or heard clinically. This allows me to remain open minded, and has given me the knowledge and experience to provide a safe, supportive space for exploration.

My approach to therapy

The first session is usually pretty chill. We'll discuss basic counseling safety and ethical matters, and get the administrative pieces out of the way.

I will ask a few questions about your therapeutic history and ask you to share a bit about yourself and your expectations. You are also encouraged to ask me tons of questions. The first session is to get a vibe, see how we click, and to offer you a chance to see if you'd like for me to assist you on your journey.

After we have a chance to know each other, I'm rather direct in my approach. Keeping your goals at the forefront of our sessions helps guide us to successful outcomes.

What you can expect from me

I acknowledge that people have intersecting identities (e.g., race, ethnicity, religion) that create unique challenges and shape their experiences. Specializing in trauma recovery, black and brown bodies, and queer exploration and development, I create space were you can feel understood as opposed to having to educate me on the "unique" issues in our community.

Being a first generation, brown bodied member of the queer, neurodivergent community, I also tend to bring a bit of spicy to our sessions.
