Great to meet you!

Hello! My name is Leigh Ann Hewes, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with 30+ years of experience in the field. I have had the privilege of working alongside an incredibly diverse range of people — from those navigating chronic health conditions and disabling mental health challenges to individuals simply looking to live a fuller, more meaningful life. I am genuinely passionate about helping everyone find their own best life, whatever that looks like for them. I hold a Primary Certificate in Rational Emotive Therapy and bring a person-centered, systems-oriented lens to my work. Above all, I believe you are the expert on your own life — my role is to walk alongside you, not to hand you a map.

My approach to therapy

I believe therapy is not a one-size-fits-all experience. Every person who walks through my door brings a unique story, set of strengths, and set of needs — and the techniques I use will always reflect that. My approach is rooted in acceptance, understanding, and a deep appreciation for diversity. I tend to be warm and highly empathetic, but I also bring a reality-focused lens to our work together, because compassion and honesty go hand in hand. I am endlessly curious about what makes people who they are, and I love helping clients identify their personal goals and build toward the best version of themselves — on their own terms.

What you can expect from me

Our first session is about you — getting to know each other and beginning to understand what brings you here and where you'd like to go. There is no pressure to have it all figured out. I will listen with an open mind, ask questions to better understand your world, and work with you to get a sense of what you're hoping to get out of therapy. By the end of our first meeting, my goal is for you to leave feeling heard, valued, and hopeful — and for us to have a shared sense of direction for the work ahead.
